Problem Statement

Providers must be enrolled and credentialed with payers before their services can be billed, and a provider who isn't enrolled in time generates claims that deny or get written off. Every newly hired provider needs a Medicaid enrollment application completed for each service location, and re-enrollment is required every five years. The applications are numerous and slow (up to twelve hours per provider), so this manual work delays the point at which a provider can bill Medicaid.
