Problem Statement

Charges for services that were performed sit unbilled when the result and its order don't line up in the billing system. EKGs are a common case: the tracing is captured and read in MUSE, but if there's no matching EKG order in Epic tied to that patient and encounter, the charge has nothing to bill against. Resolving each manually means cross-referencing MUSE against Epic, releasing the existing order or placing one if none exists, and linking it back to the result.

Automation Solution

This automation identifies MUSE EKG results without an associated Epic order, releases the existing Epic order (or places a PRN order if none exists), and links the result to the visit so the EKG can bill.
