Charges that originate in third-party systems and flow into Epic over an interface can be silently lost in transit, and unlike a held charge that surfaces on a workqueue, a charge that never arrives leaves no flag behind. The only way to catch it is to compare the count of charges each source system sent against the count Epic actually received; when those numbers don't match, charges went missing and someone has to investigate before the gap becomes permanent revenue leakage on services that were performed but never billed. Done manually, this count-to-count reconciliation across multiple interfaces is tedious and easily deprioritized.
