Problem Statement

Pharmacy and medication-management tasks require timely, accurate handling of prescriptions and results, and doing them manually pulls clinical staff away from patient care and risks delays. Many prescription requests route automatically, but a defined set need manual review to determine where they should go, and a pharmacy tech has to complete the request details and send it to the right team. Doing this triage by hand for those request types is repetitive, and a misrouted request delays the patient's medication.

This automation evaluates the Epic InBasket prescription requests that require manual review, completes the required information, and routes each to the correct pharmacy team for the predefined set of request types.
