Problem Statement

Some recurring services generate charges that have to be created and posted by hand rather than flowing automatically from an order or encounter. Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis is a clear case: the patient dialyzes every day at home, so each month a Hospital Outpatient Visit account has to be built and a charge posted for every treatment day in the period. Doing this manually is repetitive and easy to fall behind on, and any treatment day that isn't posted is revenue for a service that was actually delivered but never billed.

This automation creates the Hospital Outpatient Visit (HOV) HAR and posts Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) charges in Epic for each treatment day of the month.
