Problem Statement
Registration and demographic errors made up front cascade downstream into eligibility denials and rejected claims, and correcting them manually is repetitive. Accurate registration is what lets the resulting claims bill cleanly the first time. Cerner raises coverage alerts at registration when the payer or payer details on an account look wrong, and a handful of high-volume alerts account for much of that work. Until each alert is resolved and the correct payer information is on the account, the patient shouldn't be seen and the claim can't bill cleanly. Working them by hand is repetitive and easy to backlog.
