Problem Statement
Referrals must be received, validated, and acted on before a specialist visit, because many payers require an authorized referral on file or the visit denies. Referrals arrive by fax as unstructured documents, and before any of them can be acted on they have to be read, prioritized by urgency, and have their key details surfaced. Doing that triage by hand for every faxed referral is slow, and an urgent referral buried in the stack can delay needed care.

This automation triages faxed referrals from RightFax using document understanding, surfaces key details such as patient, physician, and specialty into the fax metadata, and prioritizes each as Urgent or Routine.
