Problem Statement

Scheduling and appointment management is high-volume and time-sensitive, and handling each request manually consumes staff time and leaves slots unfilled or follow-ups missed. When a patient has died, every future appointment must be cancelled promptly - a missed one means outreach to a deceased patient's family, a distressing and avoidable error, while the held slots also block other patients from being seen. Reflecting the status change reliably and on time is both a patient-dignity and a scheduling concern.

Automation Solution

This automation updates Epic patient status to "Deceased" based on clinical staff updates, which auto-cancels future appointments, and delivers a daily activity log to the business.
