Appointment Cancellation - Provider-Requested
Problem Statement
Scheduling and appointment management is high-volume and time-sensitive, and handling each request manually consumes staff time and leaves slots unfilled or follow-ups missed. When a provider cancels, several steps have to happen together - the encounter must be closed out, the patient notified, and the reason documented for reporting - and when any of these is delayed or skipped, the freed slot goes unfilled, the patient may show up to a cancelled appointment, and cancellation trends become invisible to the business. Handling each one by hand at volume is exactly where these steps fall through.
Automation Solution
This automation processes provider cancellation requests by closing out encounters, sending patient notifications, and documenting cancellation reasons for reporting.
