Appointment Reminder Texting
Problem Statement
Scheduling and appointment management is high-volume and time-sensitive, and handling each request manually consumes staff time and leaves slots unfilled or follow-ups missed. Rescheduling reminders only work if they reflect the current schedule, so a user has to log into Epic, export the patient work-queue (CMSL), strip out already-processed patients, reshape the columns into the format the texting platform expects, and upload the file to My Health Direct (MHD). It's a repetitive, multi-step data-handoff between two systems, and every cycle it isn't done promptly means patients don't get the updated reminder — driving no-shows and unfilled slots on appointments that have moved.
Automation Solution
This automation supports rescheduling appointment reminders by running the Epic work-queue report (CMSL), removing already-processed patients, formatting the file, and uploading it to My Health Direct via UiPath.
