Forward each inpatient Ask-a-Doc Epic InBasket message to the on-call specialty provider and send a Tiger Connect notification to ensure timely response.
Problem Statement
Clinical communication tasks require reading messages and routing information accurately and promptly, and handling them manually consumes clinical staff time and can slow the response a patient or provider is waiting on. For inpatient Ask-a-Doc questions, each Epic InBasket message has to be forwarded to the on-call specialty provider and a secure text sent so they know it's waiting. Doing both steps by hand for every message is repetitive, and a delay means a clinical question sits unanswered.
Automation Solution
This automation forwards each inpatient Ask-a-Doc Epic InBasket message to the on-call specialty provider and sends a TigerConnect notification so the message is seen and answered promptly.
